GHF is a site I have recently created for automotive enthusiasts and/or friends of mine. I have invited a group of friends from offline and online to join in, and some people that aren't gearheads at all, but part of groups from other forums that have since been closed down. Some of the core group here have been together as a group through different forums for 7 years now.

The way I run forums is often different from the way others do it, and it's not for everyone. For one, we run a very "darwin" system most of the time, which means only the strong survive. If you become extremely disliked by the group, we won't ban you, but we'll make sure your life is hell and you wont want to come back.

What that means is if you can dish it out, you better be able to take it. If you call someone out and they make you look like an arse in a flamewar, don't come crying to me to ban them. While most discussions here will be friendly and great, there will be flamewars. So here are a few questions you might have:

Can I use foul language here?

Yes. There will be word censors implemented soon that will censor out any foul language. You can turn this censor on or off as you please. The reason we're using it, is because we don't want this site to be banned from workplaces and other filtering software. But you can turn it off if you like.

Can I start a flame war?

Yes. But understand what I said above, if we get tired of you, we will run you out of here. If you get annoying to me, you won't last long either. Flame at your own risk.

Can I post porn here?

No. I don't want this site to be blocked from work or school, or getting categorized as a porn site. In the past we had a forum that was attached to a porn site, but wasn't really about porn, but people couldn't go there from work or school. We want to prevent that here. There are a million other sites out there you can post that stuff on.

Can I discuss street racing?

On a lot of other boards, you will be censored or even banned for discussing street racing. That's not the case here. I think boards that ban that sort of talk are being unrealistic sissies about it. Discuss it if you want here. If you post a bunch of details, and some cop reads it and busts your arse, don't blame me.

Can we post offensive or violent videos?

Yes. If it falls within youtube's policies, it will be fine here.

Who are these "thugs?"

The thugs are a core group of forum users that have been members of forums on previous sites, dating back to 2001-2002. Don't mess with these people as they have a lot of pull.

I welcome any other questions you might have. Feel free to ask in this thread.

What about avatar content?

Do you want to set out any guide lines?

I want to keep porn out of avatars also. "Sexy" pictures like maxim type stuff is ok, but no sex or nudity.

My reasoning is, it's not what the site is about, and there are plenty of places on the net to find porn. If someone is reading this from work or school, and there is a set of tits on an avatar or something, they could get fired/thrown out over it. I think we can do without it just fine!

Speaking of n00b's....I banned some bozo a few days back for spamming his drug crap, now I keep getting requests to 'approve or disapprove' new sign ups. It looks like the same jackoff guy so I don't see why he should get to post....but that's just me. Check it out Jeremy and see what his IP is....most of the names are just odd letters like zxhjentvoplxxz....that kind of shiat.
